RECENT ACTIVITIES OF ASIKUMA BEDUM ZONE
DONATION OF ITEMS TO CHILDREN’S WARD IN ASIKUMA (OUR LADY OF GRACE HOSPITAL)
On the 30th of October, 2022, 8 Lajna members of the Asikuma Bedum Zone made a donation to the Children’s ward of the Our Lady of Grace Hospital as part of the activities to mark the celebration of the Lajna centenary. Items donated included; detergents, liquid soap, parazone, detol, biscuits, drinks, three mop buckets, two mops and one long scrubbing brush. The liquid soaps and parazone are made by the Asikuma Bedum Zone.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF OUR IMPENDING COMING HUNDRED YEAR’S CENTENARY
On the 30th of October, 2022, Brakwa Lajna and Nasirat members went on preaching to tell people about the upcoming centenary of Lajna Imaillah. 6 Lajna members and 4 Nasirat participated. They held flyers on which the following was written; Lajna Imaillah, Ghana, love for all hatred for none, Lajna Imaillah 100 years - 1922 – 2022, Lajna centenary Ahmadiyya 1922 – 2022 etc.
ASIKUMA BEDUM ZONE HOLDS HANDICRAFT SKILLS FOR LAJNA AND NASIRAT
On the 23rd of October, 2022, Asikuma Bedum zone held their zonal meeting at Breman Brakwa. During the meeting, the Asikuma Bedum handicraft and publication secretary, Madam Hawa Akyirefi took the opportunity to train the Lajna and Nasirat members in the zone how to make liquid soap and parazone. 13 Lajna and 4 Nasirat were in attendance.
ASIKUMA BEDUM ZONAL IJTEMA
On the 20th of August, 2022 Asikuma Bedum zone held their zonal ijtema at Breman Asikuma in the new Ahmadiyya Mosque. Both Nasirat and Lajna ijtema were present. The theme for the ijtema for Nasirat was, ‘Nasirat our future, the role of Nasirat’ and the theme for Lajna was, ‘The role of an Ahmadi Woman, an ideal woman in her matrimonial home.’
Activities for the Nasirat ijtema were;Hadith memorization, some parts of the ninety-nine names of Allah, pick and act and display. Activities for the Lajna ijtema were; creating of mental health awareness from psychologist in Breman Asikuma by Mr. Afrifa, musical chair, the relevance of sacrifice for an Ahmadi woman by Zainab Nkrumah and descent language by Hajira Hawa Hammond. The annual zonal report for the zone was presented by the Zonal Secretary, Madam Hawa Akyirefi. The circuits presented items for exhibitions. Odoben circuit presented paper and bottle flower, orange jam and orange drink. Brakwa circuit presented liquid soap, shower gel, omo, parazone, hair turban, beads making. Asikuma circuit presented meat pie, pineapple juice, beaded slippers and hair turban. Bedum circuit presented tissue flower, watermelon drink, sobolo drink, chips and spring rolls. Alhamdulillah it was a successful ijtema.
BEDUM ZONAL LAJNA COOKING COMPETITION
On the 26th June, 2022 Members of Lajna had a cooking competition at Agona Odoben. The following is a record showing the type of food prepared by each circuit. Brakwa circuit prepared pancake, Asikuma circuit prepared plantain ampesi and kontomire stew with egg, cako and tilapia, Odoben circuit prepared oil rice with fried egg and vegetables and Bedum circuit prepared rice and tomato stew.
The following personalities were present; Madam Hafsat Entsie - Zonal Sadr, Madam Hawa Akyirefi - Zonal Secretary, Publication and Handicraft Secretary, Madam Hajira Usman - Zonal Naib Sadr and Zonal Nasirat Secretary, Madam Ajjra Hawa Hammond - Zonal Ta’lim Secretary and Bedum Circuit Sadr, Madam Raheema Nyanful - Brakwa Circuit Sadr and Zonal Welfare Secretary, Madam Fareeda Usman - Zonal Financial Secretary and Madam Sakina Entsie - Odoben Circuit Sadr. 21 Lajna members and 5 Nasirat were in attendance.
BEDUM ZONE HOLDS HANDICRAFT SKILLS FOR LAJNA AND NASIRAT MEMBERS
On 29th May, 2022, Bedum Zone held their zonal meeting at Breman Brakwa during the meeting, the Bedum zonal handicraft and publication secretary Madam Hawa Akyirefi and Madam Hajra Osman, the Bedum Nasirat secretary took opportunity to train the Lajna and Nasirat members in the zone. They thought 31 Lajna and 18 Nasirat members on crocheting. Lajna and Nasirat members from all four circuits in the zone, i.e., Brakwa, Bedum, Odoben and Asikuma were well represented.
ASIKUMA – BEDUM ZONE HOLDS HANDICRAFT SKILLS FOR LAJNA AND NASIRAT MEMBERS
On the 6th of March, 2022, Bedum Zone held their zonal meeting at Breman Brakwa and for that matter, Bedum zonal handicraft and publication secretary, Madam Hawa Akyirefi and Bedum zonal Nasirat secretary Madam Hajira Usman took opportunity to train the Lajna and Nasirat members in the zone. They taught 48 Lajna and 22 Nasirat members how to make meat pie, chips, spring roll. A total of 45 Lajna and 12 Nasirat participated.
BEDUM ZONAL LAJNA AND NASIRAT UNDERGO HANDICRAFT TRAINING
On the 1st of January, 2022, a handicraft training program was held for Nasirat. The National Handicraft Secretary, Madam Sarah Ankam tasked the zone to learn how to prepare paper flowers and flower vase with empty bottles. Madam Hawa Akyirefi, the Bedum Zonal Secretary, taught members on how to make paper flowers for decoration. The items used were; paper, manual card or plane white paper, glue gun. For the bottle vase, items used were; empty cd and empty water bottles. Alhamdulillah, 50 Nasirat and 45 Lajna members benefited from the training.
BEDUM ZONE ORGANISES TA'LIM CLASSES FOR NASIRAT AND LAJNA
Ta’lim classes were held from 22nd December, 2021 to 2nd January, 2022 at the Bedum Ahmadiyya Mosque. The classes attracted 95 participants of which were 50 Nasirat, 45 Lajna members. Topics treated during the classes were History of Islam and Hadith, Salat performance, teaching of Yassarnal Qur’an, Qur’anic studies, Life history of Prophet MuhhammedSA.
A total of 8 teachers helped in teaching the participants including 2 Lajna members, 4 Khudam, a Hafiz Maulvi and the Bedum Missionary. The zonal Nasirat coordinator, Madam Hajira Usman led the entire program. Cooking classes and sporting activities for Nasirat were also held during the course of the program.
On 2nd January, 2022, there was a zoom meeting of Nasirat with National Sadr Lajna. After which the closing ceremony of the Ta’lim class was held. Certificates and awards were given to all Nasirat participants. The teachers were also presented with awards. The program ended successfully with a closing prayer. Alhamdulillah
