RECENT ACTIVITIES OF KUMASI NORTH ZONE
OFORIKROM HANDICRAFT ACTIVITIES
On the 17th of June, 2022, 8 Lajna members met at the Oforikrom mosque to learn how to prepare fine toffee. Similarly, the members also met on the 24th of June, 2022 to learn how to prepare ice cream. About nine people were present at the mosque. Alhamdullillah
KUMASI NORTH ZONES PARTCIPATES IN THE VIRTUAL JALSA SALANA GHANA
Kumasi North Zone participated in the just ended JALSA SALANA 2022 with the theme ‘Khilafat Ahmadiyyat - A tool for authentic Islamic revival.’
Opening address was led by Alhaj Maulvi Noor - Muhammad Bin Salih. He urged participants to get involved because only a few speeches would be delivered.
The main speaker for the day, Maulvi Naeem Ahmed Cheema, a special aide to the Ameer and Missionary -In -Charge spoke on Khilafat and it's significance in contemporary human society. He said Khilafat was the centre of Ahmadiyyat and it is as relevant as it was and as it is now. Members should believe that, The Promised Messiah and Mahdi has come. So there is the need for Muslims to come together, accept and pay allegiance to him. He touched on the fact that signs were clear and that, non Ahmadi members need to come for bai'at in order to become Ahmadi Muslims.
On the second day of the JALSA SALANA 2022, The Ameer and Missionary-In-Charge again chaired the programme. ‘Qur’anic teachings on Islamic etiquette,’ a speech delivered by Maulvi Mohammed Opoku was the first speech for the day. He stressed on the need for Muslims to inculcate the Qur’anic teachings in themselves as this will help members have respect for each other, be obedient to authority, show kindness, love etc. towards each other.
Maulvi Aleem Mehmood, a special aide to The Ameer and Missionary-In-Charge spoke on 'Allah's support for His righteous servant- The example of the Promised Messiah(as) and some of his companions.' He said Allah was always with His servants. Therefore if one truly believes in Allah, there was no way they would be defeated in all their endeavours. For example, it was revealed to The Promised Messiah the message, 'I will cause thy message to reach the corners of the world,' the debates he held with other religions were all successful, the volumes of books he wrote etc. This tells us that, Allah does not dessert His followers.
The third speech for the day was delivered by Abdul Noor Wahab Sahib, Zonal President, Koforidua. He touched on ‘the need and relevance of Nizam- e –Jama’at.’ When this was fulfilled, members will get to recognize each other, set examples for others to admire and follow etc.
The last speaker for the day was Hafiz Maulvi Mohammed Saani, Waqfe Nau coordinator. He also spoke about ‘the Waqfe Nau Scheme.’ He urged members to brace the scheme. He also advised members to monitor the activities of Waqfe Nau members to enable them grow to serve the Jama’at with dedication. Alhamdulillah about 96 Nasirat and 189 Lajna members attended.
LAJNA AND NASIRAT MEMBERS IN THE KUMASI NORTH ZONE CELEBRATED MASIH MAUD DAY
Lajna members in the Kumasi North Zone celebrated Masih Maud Day on the 27th of March 2022 at Asafo Mosque. The program was chaired by Maulvi Yussif Bin Salih. The opening address was given by the Regional Missionary, Maulvi Abdul Hamid Tahir. Two missionaries delivered their speeches in connection with the birthday of the Promised Messiah(as). The first speaker was Muallim Hakeem Agyemang and he spoke on the need and understanding of the writings of the Promised Messiah(as). The second speaker was Muallim Mubarak Ahmed Aboagye. He touched on the expectations of the Promised Messiah(as) from the jama’at, the prophecies of Masih Maud and how they were fulfilled and the Numerous Books that he wrote etc. There were about 39 Nasirat members and 112 Lajna members.
MINI BAZAAR AND EXHIBITION
As part of the zonal conference on the 20th of March, 2022, a mina bazaar and exhibition was held. Various circuits prepared different food and drinks and clothing were displayed for the bazaar. Asafo Circuit prepared fresh yoghurt, Oforikrom Circuit prepared limogine and cookies, Ayigya Circuit prepared herbs and medicinal drinks. Sawaba Circuit prepared zonkom, palavar sauce and boiled plantain and Suame Circuit prepared millet porridge and koose.
KUMASI NORTH ZONE LAJNA CONFERENCE
On the 20th of March 2022, Kumasi North organized its zonal conference at Asafo Mosque in Kumasi. The theme for the conference was “Superstition; A Hinderance to National Development: The Role of Lajna”. The chairperson for the occasion was Hajia Fatiha Mubeena Adusei Donkor (Naib Sadr III). A welcome Address was given by the Zonal Sadr, Mrs. Hawa Ahmed. The Lajna pledge was led by the Vice Zonal Sadr, Mrs. Halima Pokuaah. The Guest Speaker for the conference, Mrs. Ayesha Anas spoke on the theme and she talked on the various forms of superstition and how it has some negative impact on us. She urged all members to stay away from superstitious beliefs.
A health talk on kidney was given by Hajia Halima Opoku Ahmed. She talked on the functions of the kidney and some diseases that affect the kidney. She advised members to avoid drug overdose as they cause kidney problems. There was an open forum where members were made to ask questions. The zonal Sadr for Kumasi south and some of her executives were present. About 228 lajna and 72 nasirat members were in attendance.
