LAJNA MEMBERS CELEBRATE THE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
World environment day has been set aside to draw the world's attention to the protection of the environment. This international event is led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and it has been held annually since 1973. This is celebrated on the 5th of June every year. This year’s theme is ‘Only One Earth’. The Lajna Imaillah (the women’s wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission) Ghana participated in this event on the 5th of June, 2022 where over 500 coconut seedlings were planted at Gomoa Biseadze in the Central region of Ghana. About 51 Lajna members and 39 Khuddam members (the men's youth wing) participated in the exercise. Members were not worried when it started raining, and they stood in the rain to complete the exercise.
Lajna Imaillah the world over is going to celebrate its 100 years of existence and as part of the centenary activities the Ghana chapter has planted over 6,000 trees across the country to help combat climate change and protect the environment.
