LAJNA IMAILLAH HOLDS NATIONAL TARBIYYAT MEETING VIA ZOOM AS PART OF ACTIVITIES PLANNED TO IMPLEMENT SOME OF THE APPROVED 2020/2021 SHURA RECOMMENDATIONS

BRIEF BACKGROUND

The 2020/2021 Shura considered a number of proposals submitted by Lajna members. One of the proposals considered was submitted by Lajna in Mangoase Zone. Lajna in the Zone submitted that: Some Lajna members are fond of visiting prayer camps and others for spiritual help. A seminar should be organized with a resource person to show the tricks that are used by the benefactors.

HUZOOR (ATBA) HAS APPROVED THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATION OF SHURA FOR IMPLEMENTATION:

The Training and Workshop Committee should assist the Tarbiyyat Secretariat by planning and holding Zoom meetings for Lajna members in all Zones to educate members on superstition and shirk.

Thus, on 1st August 2021, the Workshop and Training Committee set up by Sadr Sahiba organized a Tarbiyyat meeting via Zoom for Lajna and Nasirat as part of efforts by Lajna Imaillah Ghana to implement the 2020/2021 shura recommendations approved by our Beloved Huzur (aba).

Report on the meeting

The program commenced with the recitation of a portion of the Holy Qur’an, an opening prayer and the recitation of the Lajna Pledge. Sadr Lajna Mulk, Hajia Anisa N. Iddrisu, in her opening remarks reminded participants of our belief as Muslims in the oneness of Allah and the purpose of our creation - to worship Allah alone. Sadr Hajia Iddrisu Sahiba admonished members using the following verses of the Holy Qur’an:

Chapter 40, Al-Mu’min verses 66 ‘He is the Living God. There is no God but He. So pray unto Him being sincere to Him in religion. All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.’

Chapter 9, Al-Taubah verses 51 Say, ‘Nothing shall befall us save that which Allah has ordained for us. He is our Protector. And in Allah then should the believers put their trust’

Sadr Sahiba also advised participants to read the Holy Qur’an as often as possible or to request their children to read it to them so that they may constantly rely on guidance of Allah from the Holy Qur’an.

There were two presentations – the first presentation was by Hajia Salma Farouk (Secretary Nau Muba’ait) on the topic “Forms of Shirk and its Consequences”. The speaker reminded members on the two forms of Shirk, open and hidden and proceeded to elaborate on the Oneness and Uniqueness of Allah (Tawheed). The three forms of Tawheed namely; (i) Tawheed ar-Ruboobeeyah (maintaining the unity of Lordship), (ii) Tawheed al-Asmaa-was-sifaat (maintaining the unity of Allah's name and attributes) and (iii) Tawheed al-Ibaadah (maintaining the unity of worship) were explained to members with practical illustrations.

The second presentation delivered by Ms. Fadila Mohammed (Secretary Tabligh) was on the topic ‘The Rewards of Absolute Reliance on Allah’.  Secretary Tabligh discussed the rewards of absolute reliance on Allah by providing practical examples. She implored participants to completely trust and rely on Allah in all things.

The workshop was beneficial to all and granted members the opportunity to ask questions for clarifications and to share testimonies. Members were encouraged to share the information received at the workshop with all members of their various Jamaat for their benefit.

The three-hour meeting which started at 9:00am ended shortly after noon. Over five – hundred (500) Lajna members from 24 Zones in Ghana participated in the meeting. Alhamdulillah.
